They are certainly concentrated seemingly above the fall line in Richmond but there have been some scattered reports about them being flushed with high water below into tidal portion of the James this year as well.
I fish Norman regularly and have caught one largemouth in the year and a half I’ve lived here, the rest are “spots”. I knew they were introduced but had no idea how rapidly they’ve spread.
Its been crazy the rate at which they have expanded their range. Unfortunately they have had assistance by those that have caught them and introduced them into other bodies of water now illegal in many states but the damage is done. The reproduce much faster than many other black bass. Norman's largemouth population has been decimated in my opinion.
